I am Jake Nolen, and I am very excited to be joining this practice! After completing dental school at UAB in 2013, I did my residency with Dr. Rosenstiel at the Foundry which included extensive training in surgery and smile rehabilitation with dental implants. I have long considered Dr. Rosenstiel to be a mentor to me, so I am very excited to be working with him. Dr. Mann and I are family and we have talked about practicing together for a long time. The way we treat people and the way we practice dentistry are very similar, and I’m excited to be partnered with him in the future of Birmingham Smiles. I love transforming a dreaded trip to the dentist into a positive experience. When I give someone their smile back, I can restore their smile and their self esteem and really make a positive impact on that person’s life. From simple restorative work to more complex cases involving implants and root canals, I believe in restoring teeth so people can smile and eat with confidence. I understand that going to the dentist can be a stressful experience for people, so I am committed to offering options to make it as comfortable and pain free as possible for my patients. When I’m not at work, I enjoy spending time with my wife Haley and our 3 kids. My girls Collins and Lennon are in elementary school at Shades Cahaba and love gymnastics and art. My son River is 4 and loves superheroes, anything with wheels, and spending time with me at the golf course.
I am very passionate about treating each patient like family and want your visit to our office to be a positive experience. I believe no one should be afraid to smile, or have to worry about his or her dental health. My goal is for you to enjoy painless, comfortable care in a friendly environment at our new state-of-the-art office. I grew up in Guntersville, Alabama but have lived in Birmingham for the last eight years. I graduated from the University of Alabama with a degree in biological sciences before receiving my D.M.D. from the University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 2014. I then received Advanced Education in General Dentistry where I gained extensive experience in dental implant placement, bone grafting, and other surgical procedures. I am currently a member of the American Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry, American Dental Political Action Committee, and the Birmingham District Dental Society. Since graduating, I have continued to acquire additional training and experience in various aspects of dentistry, including implant dentistry, bone grafting and sinus lifts for implant placement, IV sedation, tooth extractions, and root canals. Outside the office, I enjoy spending time with my wife and kids, my church, and traveling. I also love outdoor activities such as biking, tennis, golf, hunting, and water sports.
I enjoy helping each patient improve their health, appearance and self-esteem by creating the smile of their dreams and also maintaining the health and function of their teeth, gums and bite. I graduated from The University of Alabama School of Dentistry in 1989 and completed a Certificate in specialty training in General Dentistry. Advanced education and continuing dental study allows me to offer our patients a superior dental experience with unparalleled quality care using the latest technology along with a personal gentle touch. My academic track record and sincere commitment to my patient’s well-being, shows my dedication to excellence in everything I do.
